Hell Is Real.

We’ve all probably heard about heaven and it’s beauty, perfectness, and all its glories and wonders. There have even been books and movies about people dying for a short time, going to Heaven, and coming back to life to tell about the realness of Heaven. But rarely do people talk about the realness of Hell. Some might not even believe that Hell exists. Well I am here to tell you that Hell most definitely does exist. Hell is real, and it is a place I pray none of you end up.

Now, I am not trying to take away from all the beauty and ahh of Heaven, because Heaven is real and is an amazing place that I pray we all end up. And I could talk forever about what Heaven might be like when we get there, but because I know not everyone will choose Jesus as their Lord and Savior, I know not everyone will go to Heaven. I know that God’s word is true and that some will end up in Hell because they rejected Jesus. And who would I be, as a so called “follower of Christ”, if I didn’t tell you all about the consequences of not choosing Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? Well first of all, not a very good friend to some of you. Not giving you the whole truth would not make me a friend at all! But second, not sharing the whole truth with anyone would make me a horrible follower of Christ. It would be like a doctor telling you that you have cancer and telling you about all the good things about treatments, but then failing to tell you that if you don’t do treatments, you’ll die. Now I know that that’s not exactly the same, but it’s pretty freakin close.

So here am I, a follower of Christ, doing my best to tell you all the whole truth (in a condensed version… for the whole, whole truth, please read the Bible ;)).

Let’s start with, for every good there is an evil. That means, if there is a savior there must be an enemy, a foe, Satan. For if there was nothing to save us from, why would we need a savior? And if we believe in angels, then shouldn’t there also be demons? Yes, just like our Lord sends angels to protect us, Satan sends demons to torment us. And if the Holy Spirit exists, then shouldn’t demonic spirits exist as well? I am a strong believer that one of Satan’s greatest tactics is getting us to believe that he and his demons don't exist. Because if he and his demons didn’t exist, then Hell wouldn’t exist either, and there would be no point in choosing Jesus and living to glorify Him because wouldn’t we all just end up in Heaven anyway if Hell didn’t exist? Ya... he wants you to believe that. Until one day, you die on this earth, and oops.. you actually DON’T end up in Heaven because Satan tricked ya. Such an evil trickster he is.

So let’s stop his evil tricks and his lies HERE! Hell is real, and Hell is exactly where Satan wants you to end up. Hell is a place described as outer darkness, a blazing furnace, a place of eternal punishment and suffering… a place I know I definitely don’t want to end up. Hell is real, but Hell is also avoidable.

We have a choice. You see, God loves all of his children, and He loves us so much that He gave us the ability to choose. He didn’t make us robots for a reason, He wants us to choose Him and love Him back! He realizes, though, that because we live in a fallen world where Satan exits, that not everyone will choose Him. He knows Satan’s lies and temptations will be too much for some people. But, the Lord makes it real simple for us, honestly. He says in John 3:15, “Everyone who believes may have eternal life in Him.” See, simple… believe and you shall be saved. However, I feel like I should clarify something first, before I leave you here. What does it mean to “believe”? It means we “accept as truth”. Therefore, if we accept and “know” that Jesus died on the Cross to save us from our sins and then resurrected and ascended to Heaven, so that we may have eternal life, wouldn’t that imply that we “know” he is our savior and that He is good? And if we “know” He is good, wouldn’t that mean that we would have to “know” Him? And if we “know” Him, wouldn’t that mean we would have a personal relationship with Him? (Like how I threw that in there in a roundabout way? ;))

Believing isn’t just “knowing” Jesus did all that for you, and then living about in whatever sinful manor we please… it’s “knowing Jesus” and living in relation with Him. And once you live in relation with Christ Jesus, you don’t have to say no to sin, you just want to. You are saved from the bondage and stronghold of sin that Satan had on you. You are saved from sin and Hell and all that that entails! Doesn’t sound like a hard choice to make, for me at least.

But I pray,

I pray for those who have a hard time choosing you, Jesus. I pray over their hearts, that you may soften their heart that Satan has turned to stone, and make a heart of flesh. I pray that your truth and your love may overwhelm those who have never heard your truth or felt your love. I pray that you may open the eyes of the blind so that they may see clearly. I pray that you may heal those who are broken and guide those who are lost. I pray that all who may read this may be saved. I pray you break the chains Satan has built in our lives. I pray that we may live in relation with you, so we may not be deceived by Satan and his evil trickery. I pray that we all may live with you in heaven someday, Lord Jesus. And may we live FOR YOU, until that day comes!

I love you, Lord and praise you!

In Jesus’s name,

Amen.

John 3:16-20 - “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.”

John 17:3 - “And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.”

Matthew 8:12 - “But the heirs of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth”

Matthew 13:41-42 - The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

Matthew 25:46 - “And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life”
